Suggestion or Comment:

I refrain from buying Starbucks at the library- I literally stop at the one on University Dr before coming to the library... The Starbucks on campus is just as expensive as any other Starbucks, and the costumer service sucks. There's been plenty of times that my drinks have been messed up and the employees are rude. This doesn't happen at any other regular Starbucks.

Hello ,
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience at the TWU Starbucks! We appreciate your feedback since it helps us improve our service and your experience.

I’m sorry that you have experienced issues with your drink orders and customer service.  These areas will be addressed with the on-site team.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly at mcrae-john@aramark.com or at (940) 898-3663 if you prefer a phone conversation.

Sincerely,

Suggestion:
The summer library hours are limited on the weekends. I think students who attend summer courses should have more access to the library on the weekends. I love the TWU library and wish it was open 24/7 year round.

Response:
Thank you for taking the time to submit your suggestion. I’m delighted you love the library and I appreciate your suggestion that TWU extend library hours. Evaluation of the open hours of the library buildings is an ongoing activity for the library administrators. The Blagg-Huey Library extended open hours in January, 2016. We will continue to look at the need and feasibility of adjusting our hours to best fit the needs of our users year round.

the computer chairs on the second floor are so squeaky and distracting, can we oil them up or something?

Thank you for your suggestion. We will see about getting them tightened up and oiled. A work order will be placed.

Suggestion:

- Please, please make regular rounds to the third floor. People are constantly conversing too loudly or even holding study groups on the third floor. It is simply annoying and just rude.

Response:

So sorry for the inconvenience and the distraction.  I have asked our Security Guards to make more frequent passes thru the 3rd floor to take care of the noise problem.  He did tell me there was a large study group on the 3rd floor this morning and he did ask them to “ keep down the noise”.
If this happens again, please feel free to call the Information Desk and report it (940 898 3702).  One of the staff will find the Guard on duty and send them to take care of the problem.
Again, thank you for letting us know.

Suggestion:

Is it possible to keep the library, or at least the third floor, at a neutral degree? No matter the season, the library is always freezing. Sometimes my hands and face are so cold that I start to cough or my nose begins to run. Sometimes, it is so cold that a simple sweater won't suffice. I feel like I need to bring mittens, gloves, and perhaps a blanket to keep warm. I like to spend many hours in he library working, but I often have to leave after a short while because it is so cold. I know the library mostly doesn't control the temperature, but can whoever does keep it a higher temperature than they do now? If not, hot cocoa and hot tea would benefit the students health and their working environment.

Response:

We are very aware of the temperature variance in the entire building.  Most of the problem is caused by the rotunda located from the 1st floor to the 3rd.  It causes the air to rise up and spread across the 3rd floor.  Also, we do have thermostats in several places on the 3rd floor and you can adjust them.  We can never keep them at one temperature the same at each thermostat due to everyone changing them to fit their needs.

You are also correct in that the Library as very little control of the temperature.  The Power Plant controls the entire university.

If you are in the building freezing, we can help you find a warm place to study.  Just come by room 208 on the 2nd floor (Library Administrative Office) and we will do all we can to make you more comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know of the problem.
